Pet Wellness Exams in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky

Preventive Veterinary Care for Dogs and Cats at Noah’s Ark Animal Clinics

The best veterinary care does not wait for something to go wrong. Wellness exams help catch problems early, track changes over time, and give your pet the foundation for a longer, healthier life.

At Noah’s Ark Animal Clinics, we provide wellness exams for dogs and cats across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. With five locations in Colerain, Springdale, West Chester, Florence, and Ft. Wright, our team makes ongoing preventive care convenient, affordable, and reliable.

We treat your pet just like our own. That means careful exams, practical recommendations, and care that fits your family’s life.

Why Annual Wellness Exams Matter

Pets age faster than people do. Depending on size and breed, a single year in a dog or cat’s life can represent several years of biological change. That is why regular exams matter so much. A lot can shift in twelve months, and the earlier we catch a problem, the better the outcome tends to be.

Annual wellness visits give us a chance to:

  • Track your pet’s weight, body condition, and overall health trends
  • Spot subtle signs of early-stage disease
  • Review nutrition, behavior, mobility, and dental health
  • Discuss parasite prevention
  • Update care recommendations based on age and lifestyle
  • Build a relationship with your pet before illness or injury occurs
  • Partner with you to address any concerns or questions you have regarding your pet’s health

What’s Included in a Noah’s Ark Wellness Exam

A comprehensive physical exam at Noah’s Ark includes a head-to-tail evaluation by one of our veterinarians. We will check:

  • Eyes, ears, nose, and mouth
  • Teeth and gums
  • Heart and lungs
  • Skin and coat
  • Joints, muscles, and mobility
  • Abdomen and lymph nodes
  • Body weight and body condition
  • Behavioral and lifestyle factors

We will also talk through any changes you have noticed at home, including appetite, water intake, energy, bathroom habits, behavior, mobility, or weight. These small details often provide some of the most useful information.

Wellness Exams by Life Stage

Puppy and Kitten Wellness Exams

The first few months of life are foundational. During puppy and kitten visits, we monitor growth, perform physical exams, discuss vaccines, and answer the many questions that come with bringing home a new pet.

We can also talk through:

  • Feeding and nutrition
  • Parasite prevention
  • Spay and neuter timing
  • Training and behavior
  • Dental care
  • Microchipping
  • Safe socialization

These visits help your new pet get off to a healthy start.

Adult Dog and Cat Wellness Exams

For most adult pets, we recommend annual wellness exams. These visits help us monitor changes over time and identify concerns before they become more serious.

During adult wellness visits, we may discuss:

  • Weight management
  • Dental health
  • Skin and coat concerns
  • Nutrition
  • Parasite prevention
  • Behavior changes
  • Activity level and mobility
  • Vaccine needs

Even if your pet seems healthy, a yearly exam gives us a baseline and helps us detect subtle changes.

Senior Pet Wellness Exams

As pets enter their senior years, their health needs often change. We typically recommend more frequent exams for senior dogs and cats, along with periodic bloodwork to monitor organ function and catch age-related issues early.

Senior wellness care can help with:

  • Arthritis and mobility concerns
  • Weight changes
  • Dental disease
  • Kidney and liver function
  • Thyroid issues
  • Heart health
  • Changes in appetite, thirst, or bathroom habits
  • Identify and monitor lumps
  • Comfort and quality of life

Detecting problems sooner gives us more options for keeping your pet comfortable, mobile, and engaged with the family.

Preventive Care Beyond the Exam

At your wellness visit we can discuss what preventative options would best suit your pet’s needs to keep them protected from intestinal parasites, heartworms, fleas and ticks. Our team of veterinarians will partner with you to discuss what your pet needs and why,  so you can feel confident in their care plan.

Our complete in-house and online pharmacy also makes it easy to refill medications and prevention products, either at the clinic or delivered to your door.

A Smarter Way to Budget Wellness Care: Pet WellPlans

For families looking for a more predictable way to manage preventive care, our Pet WellPlans for dogs and cats bundle essential wellness services into an affordable monthly payment.

Instead of facing larger bills at unpredictable points throughout the year, families can budget for their pet’s care with confidence. Pet WellPlans are one more way we are working to make excellent veterinary care accessible to every family in our community.

What to Expect at Your Wellness Visit

When you bring your pet in for their first visit, bring along any records from a previous veterinarian if you are new to us. Most wellness visits take roughly 20 to 45 minutes.

Our team will perform the exam, talk through your concerns, review preventive care needs, and make recommendations based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and health history.

If we notice anything that warrants follow-up, such as bloodwork, dental care, imaging, or a specialist referral, we will walk you through the options and pricing before any decisions are made. We are here to partner with you in deciding the best care for your pet.
