Pet Vaccinations in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky
Vaccinations for Dogs and Cats at Noah’s Ark Animal Clinics

Vaccinations are one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your pet from serious disease. Core vaccines are those recommended for all pets – regardless of lifestyle or location – because they protect against highly contagious, widespread, and frequently fatal diseases. Non-core vaccines are recommended selectively based on a pet’s individual lifestyle factors and exposure risk. Working with your veterinarian to find the right vaccine plan for your pet helps keep them healthier throughout every stage of life.
At Noah’s Ark Animal Clinics, we provide dog and cat vaccinations across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. With five convenient locations in Colerain, Springdale, West Chester, Florence, and Ft. Wright, our team makes it easy to keep your pet current on the vaccines they need.
Vaccines for Dogs
Environmental Allergies
Your dog’s vaccine plan may include:
Core Vaccines
- Rabies: Required by law and protects against a fatal disease.
- DHPP: Protects against distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza.
- Leptospirosis: Helps protect against a bacterial disease transmitted through contaminated water, soil, or wildlife. This disease can also be passed to humans and can cause liver and/or kidney disease, possibly even death for dogs and humans. Because of the risk to pets and humans, this vaccine is recommended in our region.
- Bordetella: Helps protect against kennel cough and is commonly recommended for dogs who board, attend daycare, visit groomers, or spend time around other dogs.
Non-Core Vaccines
- Lyme: Recommended for dogs with exposure to wooded areas, tall grass, ticks, or travel to tick-prone regions.
- Canine influenza: Recommended for some dogs in boarding, daycare, or other group settings.
We will recommend a schedule based on your dog’s age, health, and daily life.
Vaccines for Cats
Your cat’s vaccine plan may include:
Core Vaccines
- Rabies: Required and protects against a fatal disease.
- FVRCP: Protects against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia.
- Feline leukemia, or FeLV: Commonly recommended for kittens and cats who spend time outdoors or may be exposed to other cats.
Even indoor cats need preventive protection. Our team can help you understand which vaccines make sense for your cat’s risk level.
Puppy and Kitten Vaccinations
Puppies and kittens need a series of vaccines during their first few months of life, starting as early as 6 weeks of age. Most pets typically get their first set of vaccines when they are between 6-8 weeks old. These early visits help build immunity while also giving our veterinarians a chance to monitor growth, answer questions, and help you start your new pet on the right path.
During puppy and kitten vaccine visits, we can also discuss:
- Parasite prevention
- Nutrition
- Spay and neuter timing
- Behavior and training
- Dental care
- Microchipping
- Future wellness needs
These early appointments are an important foundation for lifelong health.
Adult Pet Vaccine Boosters
Adult dogs and cats need vaccine boosters to maintain protection. The timing depends on the vaccine, your pet’s age, and their individual risk factors.
At each visit, we will review your pet’s vaccine history and let you know what is due now, what may be due later, and what may not be necessary based on your pet’s lifestyle.
